Critical textual analysis of key Open Education texts 2002-2015

This is the critical discourse analysis data set completed in March 2018 in preparation for the article published November 2018 in Journal of Learning for Development about the lack of social justice alignment of recent (2002-2015) scholarly open education works. There are 3 major data tables covering excerpts and analysis of key texts from across the foundational, broadening and appropriation phases periods. The texts selected have often used as de-facto definitions to make claims about what open education is or could be.

The finished articled synthesised the results published here into major themes contained in the texts and found that "openness determinism" was a major alternative theme for texts that did not explicitly talk about the use of open education to assist disadvantaged and educationally under-served learners.
