I present a novel electrode filler formulation designed for aqueous battery systems, combining active material, carbon black, sodium sulfate, sodium citrate, PVA and distilled water. My method fabricates thick (up to 5 mm) electrodes featuring microscopic ion channels formed by salt-assisted structuring, enabling high utilization and 1C continuous discharge rates with 1.5C bursts at worst. The filler also exhibits antimicrobial properties due to sodium citrate. This work provides an accessible, scalable approach to improving thick electrode performance without requiring advanced nano structuring or expensive equipment, facilitating safer and more efficient battery designs.
