This article explores two pedagogical innovation projects that implemented international and cooperative online journalism practices among students from Brazil, Portugal, and Spain. Through active learning methodologies, students collaborated virtually to produce multimedia and transmedia journalistic content in English. These initiatives exemplify the concept of "Internationalisation at Home," encouraging engagement beyond national and linguistic boundaries. The study highlights both pedagogical benefits and operational challenges in fostering digital-native skills, such as collaborative content creation, project management, and virtual communication. By simulating professional newsroom environments, students took on roles like content editors and project coordinators, enhancing their adaptability and digital literacy. The analysis reveals how integrating English as a lingua franca and virtual teamwork can strengthen critical thinking and cultural sensitivity. The results underscore the potential of cross-border educational collaboration in journalism training. These findings are particularly relevant for journalism curricula seeking to align with convergent and globalised media landscapes, reinforcing the need for internationalised, multilingual, and practice-based approaches in higher education.
