Beginning with the Neolithic era, humans began to see themselves as separate from nature and the animal kingdom. They also saw themselves as superior and often felt they were given a god's right to rule. This attitude helped the development of civilization but now with the Industrial Revolution it is clear that this sense of entitlement has limits. Humans must adjust their technology to work in harmony with the global environment but this mindset of human empowerment stands in the way.
