Forbidden Foods and Drinks in the Holy Quran and their Health Impact on Islamic Societies

This research deals with the forbidden foods and drinks contained in the Holy Qur'an. The researcher aims to identify the forbidden foods and drinks in the Quranic text, and to explain the findings of the scholars of Sharia and other medical scientists to the damage of those forbidden foods and drinks, and to clarify the impact of the prohibition of these foods on health in Islamic society, in addition to encouraging researchers to pay attention to the study of life systems guided by the Quran. It starts with identifying the forbidden items in the Quranic text, and then discusses the wisdom of the prohibition of those specific types of food and drink, then discusses the interpretations of Muslim scholars seeking that wisdom, then discusses the impact of that prohibition on health in the Islamic community. The researcher concluded that the harm of forbidden items to human body and mind is a scientific fact. The commitment of the Islamic Ummah in general to avoid those forbidden foods and drinks had the greatest impact on health in Muslim societies. The researcher recommended more researches on the Sharia forbidden items compared to scientific facts.
