The cell's center of mass is plotted, from the maze start to the end. (a–b) When the cell is exposed to high noise (i.e. wide noise distribution) it can explore different paths and exhibits a curved trail. (c) With a lower noise level, the path is more accurate and the cell chooses the shortest path. (d) With low noise, the cell may get stuck behind a wall or a corner in the maze.
