Wild-type S. pombe (SP286) and each heterozygous mutant were diluted to an OD600 of 0.1, and 50 µl of each diluted sample was seeded into another 96-well plate. Then, cells in culture were treated with 50 µl of 2× concentrations of plumbagin to be tested in culture media as described in the “Materials and Methods”. Cultures were incubated at 30°C for 14 h, and OD600 was measured using a microplate reader. Data represent the mean ± standard error (n = 3).
