Golgi impregnation was used to label dendritic spines on the primary dendrite of excitatory cortical projection neurons in age-matched 2 month controls (A) and Cln6nclf (B) mice. (C) The Cln6nclf mutant mouse excitatory pyramidal neurons have reduced spine density. [Mean spine density +/− SEM, n = 40 neurons counted per genotype (***p≤0.0001)].
