Cytokine-dependent regulation of in vivo emergence of hybrid cells.

C57BL/6 mice (3 animals/panel/experiment) received i.p. injection of thioglycollate. (A) Immediately before thioglycollate injection, freshly prepared IL-4C formulation (10 µg IL-4/animal) or PBS alone was i.p. injected into those mice. (B) Recombinant IFNγ (5 µg/injection/animal) or PBS alone was i.p. injected immediately before and 24 h after thioglycollate administration. PEC samples harvested on Day 2 were analyzed for the numbers of CD11c⁺/MHC II⁺/Ly6G⁺ neutrophil-DC hybrids. Asterisks indicate statistically significant differences compared with the control panel receiving PBS alone (*P < 0.05, **P < 0.01). Data are representative of four independent in vivo experiments.
