OlufsenApplied changes in blood pressure induce changes in the arterial wall strain, which induce changes sensed by stretch sensitive mechanoreceptors found in BR within the arterial wall. This stimulus modulates frequency of action potential formation, which can be used to determine the BR firing rate.
