Fig 2C and 2D show heart rate response as a function of percentage of TTE expressed as absolute (left lower panel) and relative (right lower panel) responses, respectively. #Indicates a main effect of time in the two-way mixed ANOVA (p < 0.001). Indicates a time-by-group interaction effect in the two-way mixed ANOVA (p < 0.001). *Indicates a main effect of time in the one-way repeated ANOVA (p < 0.001). ‡‡Indicates greater than female athletes (p = 0.0097 to 0.0002). Indicates greater than female athletes (p = 0.017). Significant differences between each of timepoints are not shown for clarity.
