(A) drosomycin expression 24 hours PI, normalized to rp49, after immune challenge with E. faecalis (sphe^Δ49 vs. sphe^Δ49; UAS-sphe p<0.0103, sphe^Δ104 vs. sphe^Δ104;UAS-sphe p<0.0229). Controls (crtl) are w¹¹¹⁸ wild type flies. (B) Survival rate after immune challenge with E. faecalis (sphe^Δ49 vs. sphe^Δ49; UAS-sphe p<0.0001, sphe^Δ104 vs. sphe^Δ104;UAS-sphe p<0.0001). For over expression of sphe using UAS-sphe lines we used ubiquitous Act5C>Gal4.
