(A) Cobalt backfill (Altman and Tyrer 1980, Espinoza et al. 2006) of third nerve of second abdominal ganglion in Procambarus clarkii. (B) Cobalt backfill of third nerve of third abdominal ganglion in Procambarus fallax f. virginalis. Both show areas of synaptic connection (arrows) between motor giant neurons and lateral and medial giant interneurons (Mittenthal and Wine 1973). Same scale for both A and B.
