(A) RIC resulted in better preserved tissue ATP levels throughout the observation period. Significantly higher tissue ATP levels have been found in the RIC 1 group vs. Control after 3 h reperfusion. (mean±SD, **p<0.01 RIC 1 vs. Control, one-way ANOVA, n = 6/group/time point). (B) Extent of oxidative damage and lipid peroxidation (MDA) did not show significant between group differences.
