Fe³⁺bound EA, but not UA, failed to inhibit heme peroxidase activity: UA (10 μM) or EA (10 μM) and indicated molar ratio of FeCl₃·6H₂O were pre-incubated at room temperature with either MPO (12.5 μg/ml) or LPO (25 μg/ml) for 5 min before the assay was initiated.
