Development of Drosophila photoreceptors
This figure shows the three stages of development for the Drosophila R7 & R8 photoreceptors during metamorphosis.
The stage of development is indicated by hours after puparium formation (APF). Metamorphosis lasts for approximately 100 hours when animals are kept at 25 degrees.
The tissue was stained with mAb24B10 (green) and anti-echinoid (magenta). Areas of overlapping expression appear white.
