Corroboration of VetScan data by flow cytometry.

SheahanWhole peripheral blood from mock or MERS-CoV infected mice was stained and analyzed by flow cytometry from two independent experiments and the data was combined. Total white blood cells were identified by cell surface marker CD45. Lymphocyte frequency was generated by combining the frequencies of T, B, NK and NK-T cells. Monocytes and neutrophils were identified by CD115 and Ly6G, respectively. The line is at the mean and the error bars represent the standard error of the mean. Each data point represents the data from one mouse. Asterisks denote statistical significance (P < 0.05) as determined by two-way ANOVA and Sidek’s multiple comparison test.
