Competition dynamics between rpoCA494V and rpoCWT harboring strains in different background (indicated on top of each figure).

The starting ratios of competing species shown from are indicated on top: 1:1 (Equimolar proportions of both competing species), 1:1000 (Mutant species inoculated in 1000 times higher than wild type), 1000:1 (Wild Type species inoculated in 1000 times more proportion than mutant), Mono culture control (Competing species grown in separate flasks with same aged media). The age of the media in which competition is carried out is indicated on the right margin
