Dr Heather Fletcher (mezzo-soprano) and Meredith Connie (guitar) present a recital of compositions by Australian women featuring Elena Kats-Chernin, Peggy Glanville-Hicks, Katy Abbott, and Sally Whitwell. Included are works by two up-and-coming Australian composers, Tash Atkins and Rose de la Montaña, and a world-premiere of Meredith Connie's "Songs of Inanna". Dr Fletcher has performed with Opera Australia, Victorian Opera, and State Opera of South Australia. Her concert experience comprises extensive choral singing in venues such as Carnegie Hall, New York and St Martin in the Fields, London. She completed her PhD in Music Psychology at The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music where she currently lectures and teaches singing. Connie is active as a classical guitarist, holding a Masters in Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She is a composer, performer, teacher, and Alexander Technique instructor. Meredith has concertised across two continents and particularly enjoys collaborative and chamber work.
