Polymicrobial sepsis increases Nlrp3, Il1b, and Il6 expression in the muscle. Twelve-week-old male C57B16/J mice were subjected to cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) or sham surgery (sham), as indicated. (A) qRT-PCR analysis of Nlrp3, IL-1β, and Il6 expression in gastrocnemius/plantaris (GP) and (B) tibialis anterior (TA) muscles of sham (n = 5) and CLP (n = 5) mice 4 days after surgery. mRNA expression was normalized to Gapdh.
