Open Science in Sweden (Module 1 of OSitSC)

Module 1 in the course Open Science in the Swedish Context

This module provides an introduction to Open Science. It covers the historical development of Open Science, its potential benefits and challenges for researchers and society, and the current landscape in Sweden and Europe—both institutionally and at the grassroots level. The module also highlights key actors driving Open Science in Sweden (such as VR, SUHF, KB, and SND), explores SUHF’s national roadmap for Open Science and its ten recommendations, and discusses the progress of Swedish higher education institutions in implementing this roadmap.
