This dataset was collected as part of a research study investigating the relationships between social capital, social discrimination, and quality of life among older Syrian refugees living in Istanbul. The participants were individuals aged 60 and above, residing in various districts of Istanbul. The dataset includes quantitative responses to structured survey instruments that measure bonding and bridging social capital, perceived social exclusion, and multiple dimensions of quality of life (e.g., physical health, psychological well-being, social relationships, and environmental factors).

Sociodemographic variables such as age, gender, marital status, education level, duration of displacement, and living arrangements are also included to allow for subgroup analysis. The data were collected in 2023 through face-to-face interviews conducted in Arabic and later translated into Turkish and English for analysis purposes.

This dataset provides a valuable resource for researchers and policymakers aiming to better understand the psychosocial experiences of aging refugee populations in urban contexts.
