Data Note on Identity and Developmental Politics

The paper is a data note related to the paper “Identity and elites in developmental politics: a case study of the “Gorkha” and “Gorkhaland” movements in the eastern parts of India.” The paper drew on an in-depth analysis of the interview with four primary respondents related to the Gorkha and Gorkhaland movements. Respondent A was involved in the first Gorkhaland Movement of 1986 and later became a Chairman of Kalimpong Municipality in 1994; Respondent B was a student and active observant of both the first movement in 1986 and the second movement in 2007; Respondent C was a PhD student in 1986 movement and later became the Member of the Legislative Assembly, and Respondent D who is a resident of one of Tea Garden and a PhD candidate in Political Science since 2017 in state university of West Bengal.
