Climate-driven transition in microbial deterioration and protection of stone surfaces at cultural heritage sites

Using genomic data from stone heritage sites in East and South Asia, we identified a dynamic shift in biofilm effects in cultural heritage sites from deterioration to protection according to the temperate-to-tropical climate transition.
