Gene expression was inferred from gene expression atlas (Sekhon et al., 2011). Genes with RPKM of <1 were considered non-expressed.

Orthologs and paralogs were inferred from (Schnable et al., 2012). Comparison of TE influenced and non-TE influenced FGS genes shows similar trends.
