Unlinked_RAW DATA_CLIMATE CHANGE PUBLIC PERCEPTION SURVEY (Responses).xlsx
This data was collected from a public survey interviewing 300 respondents on risk perceptions in Kigali, Rwanda.
The survey was designed on a google form, which was the primary data collection tool for the survey, and divided into 4 sections collecting 4 types of data in line with the research questions; the Demographic Data section, the Awareness & Risk Perception Section, the policy Prioritisation section and the Knowledge section. The survey was conducted in-person through one-on-one interviews with the researcher filling in the google form as participants responded orally to questions on the form.
The respondents were selected based on a convenience sample size of 300 respondents calculated with a confidence level of 95% and a 5% margin of error, representative of Kigali city. Kigali was chosen as the appropriate site for this study as it is the economic and political capital of Rwanda, whose residents are composed of a diversity of people from the different districts in Rwanda. The survey was conducted in three high-traffic hotspots in the city; Downtown in Kiyovu, Kimironko market and Kisimenti market. Notably, many respondents were hawkers or moto-drivers given the choice of sites for the interview resulting in a high risk of sampling bias
