We present a dataset for an agricultural production typology for counties across the contiguous United States, derived from a cluster analysis of the most recently available (2012) county-level crop data from the United States Department of Agriculture's 2012 Agricultural Census.

This dataset has been submitted as a Data Note to BMC Research Notes.
