Activity assays were performed at 30°C on LB-agar plates supplemented with either milk (protease), carboxymethylcellulose (cellulose), olive oil (lipase) or tributyrine (esterase). According to the 16S rDNA sequence and physiological tests, strain JR3 was identified as Bacillus sp. JR3, close but not identical to B. cereus.
