This systematic literature review addresses a crucial knowledge gap in research concerning the practical implementation of a Deep Learning model within the construction industry. Cost prediction models aim to provide Main Contractors with a reliable means to accurately estimate construction project costs. This research gains paramount importance considering the industry’s persistent inefficiencies which exhibit detrimental ripple effects on global markets. By adopting a systematic literature review approach, we have uncovered significant challenges related to the integration of the above-said ML-cost models in construction projects. The research also highlights relevant limitations, both systemic, and structural, and elucidates unbiased perceptions of this technology from the viewpoint of the Main Contractor.
