The following data support the study: Reconciling Archean organic-rich mudrocks with low primary productivity before the Great Oxygenation Event, PNAS (accepted, 2024).   • Dataset S1. Phanerozoic TOC versus sedimentation rate data compilation (data for Fig. 1 and 2A).
  • Dataset S2. Hamersley and Fortescue groups (Pilbara Craton, Australia). TOC data sorted by formations and members, compiled from previous publications, coupled to sedimentation rate data from this study and Trendall et al. (2004) (data for Fig. 1, 2, and 3D).
  • Dataset S3. Archean rocks TOC concentrations and lithologic classifications adapted from data compilation after Zeichner, et al. (2024) (data for Fig. 3B and 3C).
