Photos from the project: 'Creating Stages with Young People and Publics in Response to the Refugee Crisis in Europe. Mobilizing Affects and Politics through Creative Methods'.

The Participatory Action Research investigates how young people from refugee backgrounds represent their migration experiences through their artistic projects and the impact on public affects and politics. The artistic collaborators of the project have been interlocutors of my PhD project in Lesvos, which investigated borders, belongings and creative acts of young people (2019-2023). Our collaboration continued as they migrated onwards in other European countries.

For this project, we conducted a series of public performances and university lectures in which the artists represented their artistic initiatives and migration experiences. The central location of the fieldwork was Lesvos, where the invited artists performed for a local audience comprising people from refugee and regional backgrounds. The research investigated the impact of the performance on the audience's affects and politics.

The dataset includes photos from the event.
