<p dir="ltr">We explored the flux of stream CO<sub>2</sub> at subtropical forested catchments in southeastern China and their main influencing factors through field campaigns. We believe that our study significantly contributes to the literature because we took the concentrations of riparian soils of riparian soil CO<sub>2</sub> into consideration, and it had a higher explanatory power for CO<sub>2</sub> emissions than <i>p</i>CO<sub>2</sub>.</p>
