Ocelot 2nd Order Data

dataset
posted on 2022-05-31, 15:49 authored by Amanda VealsAmanda Veals

Used and available locations for male and female ocelots at the 2nd order (home range scale).

Exact location information (i.e., latitude and longitude) have been removed from this dataset due to the sensitive nature of data collected on endangered species and privacy of landowners.

Data provided in this file can be used to run the RSFs described in Veals et al. 2022 in Ecosphere.

The AnimalID column indicates the individual identification code for each oelots. Group indicates which sex and time period group the ocelot belongs to. Used represents if a point was a used location (1 = telemetry location, 0 = randomly available location).

Woody contains proportion of land cover (for woody vegetation) based on moving window analysis. Non-Woody similarly contains proporiton of land cover for that vegetation class. SD_Woody contains the standard deviation of woody cover at a location. Log_Low, Log_Med, and Log_High represent the log of distance (in kilometers) to the nearest road based on traffic volume classification. Traffic volume was classified based on the annual average daily traffic record provided by Texas Department of Transportation (low as <1,000 AADT [<1 car/minute], medium as 1,000–5,000 AADT, and high as >5,000 AADT ).
