The study area includes a pond named Nayan Sagar, located in the Dharamgarh subdivision of Kalahandi district, Odisha, India. The pond’s left top boundary coordinate is 19.87325000 & 82.76707778, the right top boundary coordinate is 19.87270833 & 82.76843611, the left bottom boundary coordinate is 19.87214167 & 82.76662222, and the right bottom boundary coordinate is 19.87180833 & 82.76795833. The chosen output coordinate system is WGS84 / UTM zone 44N (EGM96 Geoid).

The dataset contains 280 images captured by an RGB sensor mounted on a UAV. These images are geotagged before beginning post-processing. For geotagging, data (.ubx extension) collected by the base station and the rover are used. The raw data (U-center UBX GPS log data) from both the base station and the rover are converted into an object script (.obs extension) and a navigation mesh (.nav extension). After processing the object scripts from the base station and the rover and the navigation mesh from the rover, a position file (.pos extension) is generated, which facilitates the geotagging process.
