Márton-et-al-Exploring the impact of the host defense peptide Pap12-6 on the immune response and epithelial integrity in chicken-derived ileal explant cultures.
In the present study, chicken ileal explant cultures were used to examine the effects of the HDP Pap12-6 on enteral immune state and tight junction proteins. The peptide was applied solely at 25 and 50 µg/ml concentrations (PAP-low and PAP-high, respectively) and administered in inflammatory conditions evoked by polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid (Poly I:C, 50 µg/ml), at the same doses (PI:C+PAP-low and PI:C+PAP-high, respectively).
