A spectrogram of the extinct Kauaʻi ʻōʻō rendered in the medium of pumpkin. This species was last heard in 1987. All members of the family (Hawaiian Honeyeaters; Mohoidae) were driven extinct from Hawaii by introduced rats, mosquitos, and malaria.
