Functional and Evolutionary Insights into the Intergenic Deletion n.28271delA in SARS-CoV-2: Implications for Genomic Surveillance and Public Health
This dataset provides supplementary materials related to the identification and analysis of Notable mutations in the ORF8 gene of SARS-CoV-2. It includes raw sequencing reads and annotated variants from the SARS-CoV-2 GRA lineage isolate NY-PRL-250415_83F01, collected from a patient in New York, USA, on April 7, 2025. Key findings include the discovery of a Notable intergenic deletion (n.28271delA) between the ORF8 and N genes, as well as additional mutations in ORF1ab and other genomic regions. This data has been submitted to GenBank under accession number PV548865 and supports my upcoming preprint titled 'Genomic Analysis of SARS-CoV-2 GRA Lineage: Identification of Notable Mutation n.28271delA in ORF8 and N Gene.' Researchers are encouraged to utilize this dataset for further studies on viral evolution, transmission dynamics, and functional implications.
Files Included:
- Consensus Sequence (FASTA Format): The complete genome sequence analyzed in this study, highlighting key mutations.
- Variant Call File (VCF): Detailed variant calls generated through genomic alignment and annotation pipelines.
- Mutation List: A curated list of identified mutations, including their genomic positions, amino acid changes, and predicted functional impacts.
- Scripts and Code: Custom scripts used for bioinformatics analyses, such as mutation calling, annotation, and visualization.
Researchers are encouraged to reuse and build upon these data to further investigate the biological significance of these mutations.
