dataset

This dataset includes supplementary data supporting the study, "Global rice methane emissions tripled in the past six decades". The emissions were simulated independently using three methods: a process-based model (CH4MOD), a machine learning model Radom forest (CH4-ML), and the improved emission-factor method (CH4-EF) following the IPCC guidelines. Including:

Data S1. Global CH4 emissions from 1961 to 2020 estimated by CH4MOD, CH4-ML, CH4-EF, and other studies. Related to Figure 1a. (.csv)

Data S2. Average annual CH4 emissions differences between CH4MOD, CH4-ML and CH4-EF during 1960s and 2010s. Related to Figure 1b-e. (.tif)

Data S3. Spatial distribution of CH4 emissions in 2010s and the changes relative to the 1960s, estimated by the average of CH4MOD and CH4-ML. Related to Figure 2a-b. (.tif)

Data S4. Annual CH4 emissions in global total and 15 major rice-producing countries from 1961 to 2020, , estimated by the average of CH4MOD and CH4-ML. Related to Figure 2c. (.csv)

Data S5. Change of rice harvested area and CH4 flux in the 2010s relative to the 1960s, estimated by the average of CH4MOD and CH4-ML. Related to Figure 3a-b. (.tif)
