<p dir="ltr">This is the Global Dam Watch (GDW) database of river barriers and reservoirs, version 1.0. The database development is fully described in Lehner et al. 2024 (see DOI-link in References below).</p><p dir="ltr">There are 2 zip files (one in Geodatabase format and one in Shapefile format):</p><ul><li>"GDW_v1_0_gdb.zip" contains both river barriers (points) and reservoirs (polygons) including all attribute information, in Geodatabase format</li><li>"GDW_v1_0_shp.zip" contains both river barriers (points) and reservoirs (polygons) including all attribute information, in Shapefile format; additionally there is a comma delimited text file containing all barrier attributes</li></ul><p dir="ltr">Each of the zip-files contains a Technical Documentation (GDW_TechDoc_v1_0.pdf) which provides additional information. The GDW database is maintained by the Global Dam Watch initiative, see <a href="https://www.globaldamwatch.org" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.globaldamwatch.org</a>.</p>
