Dataset of BLC Lake.xlsx
Carbonate geochemistry, including species, content, and isotopic compositions, in the Beilianchi (BLC) Lake, northern China, was obtained. Carbonate species were identified using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and results show that carbonate consists of proto-dolomite and calcite. The dolomite and calcite contents were determined by a Nicolet 6700 Fourier transform infrared reflectance (FTIR) with a diffuse reflectance attachment (Meng et al., 2015). The C-O isotopic compositions of bulk carbonate were determined using a Thermo-Fisher MAT 253 plus mass spectrometer equipped with a Kiel preparation system through the reaction with 100% phosphoric acid. The δ13C and δ18O results are reported relative to Vienna Pee Dee Belemnite (VPDB) standard. The analytical error for both the δ13C and δ18O is better than 0.1‰. This dataset can help to reconstruct the effective moisture change in northern China.
