Dataset for commecometrics R package

This dataset provides a real-world trait, climate, and distribution data used in the commecometrics R package, which models the relationship between community-level traits and environmental variables. It includes:

• points: 52053 spatial sampling points. Each point includes coordinates, mean annual temperature (BIO1), annual precipitation (BIO12), and dominant land cover class (DOM_NUM). These data are derived and filtered from the dataset published by Siciliano-Martina et al. (2024).
  
• traits: A dataset of relative blade length (RBL) values for species in the order Carnivora from Siciliano-Martina et al. (2024).
  
• polygons: A spatial object (in sf format) containing species distribution polygons for Carnivora species. The range were downloaded from the IUCN Red List webpage (IUCN, 2025).
  

The .rda file includes all three objects for seamless use in R. The dataset is intended for testing, examples, and reproducibility of the commecometrics package.
