Data on Talent Mobility

The research on talent mobility in Brazilian television examines the patterns and dynamics of actor migration between the major networks Globo and Record within the telenovela industry. This study focuses on understanding how these networks, representing both incumbent and entrant entities, have developed talent acquisition and retention strategies over time. By analyzing a comprehensive dataset that includes 4,693 appearances of 2,470 actors and actresses from 1990 to 2019, the research offers a quantitative perspective on the extent and nature of these migrations, highlighting their impact on the industry and the competitive approaches that shape the Brazilian television market.
