This study examined the impact of inspiratory muscle warm-up protocols on the performance of elite male 400-meter runners. It found that using IWU at intensities of 40% and 60% of maximal inspiratory pressure significantly enhanced sprint performance, improved respiratory muscle strength, and accelerated lactate clearance after exercise. These findings highlight the potential of IWU as a practical strategy for optimizing sprint outcomes in elite athletics.
