Datasets usually provide raw data for analysis. This raw data often comes in spreadsheet form, but can be any collection of data, on which analysis can be performed.
These data are related to the seismic hammer experiment discussed in "Aerial Seismology using Balloon-Based Barometers" by Krishnamoorthy et al. (IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2019).
The zip file contains the location, time and vertical motion velocity data in m/s from geophones placed near the seismic hammer. The first line in each .dat file contains the lat-long of the geophone. The time is shot relative: t=0 is the shot time. The shots are also highly repeatable, each trace is representative of all shots in the 39 shot sequence used in the main paper.
