Data Collection (Social Determinant of LA use).xlsx
Our research investigates how various social determinants—such as income levels, education, healthcare access, and cultural norms—affect individuals' decisions to store and reuse leftover antibiotics in Lebanon. By analyzing these factors, we aim to highlight the underlying causes of this practice and propose targeted policy interventions to promote more responsible antibiotic use, ultimately contributing to the global fight against AMR.
This study is particularly relevant in Lebanon, where economic instability and gaps in healthcare coverage exacerbate self-medication behaviours. Understanding these social determinants allows for the development of tailored awareness campaigns and regulatory measures to curb improper antibiotic use, thus safeguarding public health and slowing the progression of antibiotic resistance.
