You are here accessing to the homogenized daily peak wind gust (DPWG) series created in the following paper:
Minola L., Azorin-Molina C., Guijarro J. A., Zhang G., Son S.-W., & Chen D. (2021): Climatology of near-surface daly peak wind gusts across Scandinavia: observations and model simulation. Journal of Geophysical Research - Atmospheres
The analysis of the above paper were carried based on this dataset.
All the homogenised DPWG series and related info are included in the text files named: (1) ‘Info_stations.txt’ (2) ‘DPWG_series.txt’
If you have problems to access to the data and/or questions about it, please contact Deliang Chen: deliang@gvc.gu.se
WHAT YOU FIND IN THE TEXT FILES
‘Info_stations.txt’ provides info about the measuring stations used for this study. In particular, columns refer to: (Column 1) Station label - for the identification of the daily peak wind gust series in the ‘DPWG_series.txt’ (Column 2) Measuring station name (Column 3) ID station number (Column 4) Nation - Finland, Norway, or Sweden (Column 5) Latitude (Column 6) Longitude (Column 7) Elevation [m a.s.l.] (Column 8) Type of station - Coast, inland, or mountain
‘DPWG_series.txt’ contains the homogenized DPWG series. In particular, columns refer to: (Column 1) Year (Column 2) Month (Column 3) Day (Column 4) Station_1 - DPWG observations for Station #1 (Column 5) Station_2 - DPWG observations for Station #2 (Column 6) … … (Column 130) Station_127 - DPWG observations for Station #127
