This dataset includes responses from a pilot sample of 200 participants, collected as part of the validation process for the Democracy Perception Scale (DPS), a newly developed instrument designed to measure individual perceptions of democracy across multiple dimensions (e.g., participation, rule of law, accountability, civil liberties, etc.). The primary objective of this dataset is to assess the scale’s psychometric properties, including construct validity, internal consistency, and factor structure.

Participants were selected to reflect a diverse range of sociodemographic characteristics (age, gender, education level, and urban/rural residence), ensuring sufficient variability for exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. Each respondent completed the full version of the DPS, consisting of 29 Likert-scale items, along with a brief demographic questionnaire.

The dataset is intended for statistical validation purposes and will support analyses such as exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability testing (Cronbach’s alpha, composite reliability), and initial construct validity assessments.

All responses are anonymous, and data collection was conducted in accordance with ethical standards and data protection regulations.
