Five data files for the experiments detailed in the study: 1_wild_departure concerns the timing of parental abandonment relative to larval hatching; 2_wild is the mandible allometry for wild larvae reared under the No Care or Control environments; 3_exp_evol is the mandible allometry for the populations that evolved in the Control or No Care environments; 4_smallest details the smallest larvae surviving from Control or No Care broods in a No Care environment; and, 5_carcass_cutting details the experiment in which Control or No Care larvae were provided with carcasses with and without an artificial hole.
