CP4A Africa Hourly Potential Evapotranspiration (PET) Dataset. PET is computed using the Penman-Monteith methodology based on the approach given by Singer, M.B., Asfaw, D.T., Rosolem, R., Cuthbert, M.O., Miralles, D.G., MacLeod, D., Quichimbo, E.A. and Michaelides, K., 2021. Hourly potential evapotranspiration at 0.1 resolution for the global land surface from 1981-present. Scientific Data, 8(1), p.224.

  • Data was computed using seven atmospheric variables lifted directly from the Convection Permitting Model for Africa:

    1. 10 m zonal (u) wind speed (m s-1)
  • 2. 10 m meridional (v) wind speed
  • 3. 2 m dew point temperature (K)
  • 4. 2 m air temperature (K)
  • 5. Surface net solar radiation (J m-2)
  • 6. Surface net thermal radiation (J m-2)
  • 7. Atmospheric surface pressure (Pa)
