Index marsh bird presence/absence obtained via passive acoustic monitoring at 22 points in reference and restored marsh on Whiskey Island, Terrebonne Bay, Louisiana through the breeding seasons (April-July) of 2016–2018. Recordings were collected using Wildlife Acoustics Song Meter SM2 acoustic recording units (hereafter, ARUs). ARUs were mounted to posts >1.5m aboveground and deployed within study plots. Placement was altered as needed within plots across the study period due to habitat changes such as development of unstable substrate. For all years, ARUs were programmed to record 30 minutes a day in 10-minute increments at 15 minutes before sunrise, 15 minutes after sunset, and 2300 (to account for potential
nocturnal bird presence). Recordings were manually analyzed using Song Scope software.
